Pastor Watson was born in Oakland, California in 1959. He attended a Catholic grade school in Martinez, California. He attended Alhambra High School in Alhambra, California. Doug Watson graduated from high school in 1977. From 1978 to 1979 he attended a Junior College in San Pablo, California. Soon, thereafter, he enlisted in the United States Armed Forces. Doug Watson served diligently in the service which brought him to his first tour of duty in Butzback, Germany where he served two years of active duty. He achieved the rank of E-5 Sergeant. On December 31, 1980 he was returned stateside and based at Fort Polk, Louisiana where he finished his tour of duty. He received an honorable discharge soon after reaching Fort Polk.
It was during his time stationed at Fort Polk that Pastor Watson began his ties with the Church of God of Prophecy here in Louisiana. It was while at a State Convention for the Church of God of Prophecy at a church in Alexandria, Louisiana that he met his future wife, the former Ms. Keli Lambert. Brother Watson had attended the convention under the guidance of Bro. Barker.
After the convention Bro. Watson would drive to Belle River to visit with Keli Lambert and the courting process began. On Labor Day of September 04, 1982 Brother Douglas Watson proposed and the couple became engaged and married soon after. Their first child, Duggie, was born on Feb. 05, 1984. Their second child, Stephanie Watson, was born on March 10, 1993.
Douglas Watson earns a living as a welding inspector. On his off-time and on each Sunday he works for God Almighty doing God's will as he has been called.
